TRACKING SERVICES
EDGE Integrity Resource Canada ULC has a pool of 50-75 field technician personnel to draw from. This allows EDGE to react to rapidly changing customer schedules. All personnel are trained for multiple services to allow for maximum logistic flexibility. EDGE is capable of mobilizing personnel to customer locations on very short notice. EDGE uses leading technologies in conjunction with experienced pig trackers to provide industry leading service.
Pig tracking systems use industry standard ELF transmitters with the capability of identifying and pinpointing individual pigs in a multi-pig train.
ELF signals can be recorded at tracking locations to provide a historical record of pig passage. Pig trackers use GPS navigation with aerial image mapping software to allow them to locate key locations along the pipeline right of way during a pig run. Trackers have multiple communication abilities such as cellular phone with group SMS messaging, two-way radio and upon request satellite telephone and internet data transfer ability.
In difficult to access areas EDGE personnel have experience and training to operate ATV's, UTV's and snowmobiles. EDGE also has experience with performing their work from air boats, helicopters, swamp buggies, or snow-cats.
EDGE employs a proprietary pig tracking software system. This allows quality controlled shared data between AGM survey and pig tracking. All data reports are available in PDF or Excel format and are available immediately following a pig run. Customized reporting is available.
During in-line inspection projects EDGE technicians coordinate with operations personnel and tool vendor personnel for run scheduling and logistics.
